NIUBI Partition Editor is another utility for managing hard disk and SSD partitions, distinguished by the fact that nearly all of its features are available in the free version. Unlike other popular solutions such as AOMEI Partition Assistant, MiniTool Partition Wizard, and DiskGenius, it has no significant limitations for home use. In this article, we will review the application’s capabilities, the limitations of its free version, and provide instructions on how to use it.

Portable version (Portable), distributed as an archive.

Limitations of the Free Version:

– No ability to create bootable media.

– Missing “1-Second Rollback” feature, which allows instantly reverting to the previous partition configuration in case of failure.

– Maximum supported disk size is 16 TB.

Main Functions of the Application:

– Operating system migration and disk cloning.

– Resizing partitions, copying, merging, and splitting them.

– Converting file systems from NTFS to FAT32 and vice versa, converting dynamic disks to basic.

– Hiding volumes, wiping data irreversibly, optimizing the file system, defragmentation, and disk surface testing.

Instruction for Using NIUBI Partition Editor

1) Select the disk or partition you need to work with. Use the left panel or context menu. Available actions depend on the selected partition.

2) If the action requires setting parameters (for example, specifying the size for resizing a partition), configure the settings and click “OK”.

3) Add other actions if necessary. They will be added to the queue for execution.

4) Click “Apply” in the main window of the application to start executing the actions, and confirm their launch.

5) Wait for the process to complete. If you are working with a system partition, a computer restart may be required.

Limitations When Working with MBR and GPT

NIUBI Partition Editor supports initializing disks with the desired partition table (MBR or GPT). However, converting between these formats without data loss is not available in the free version. For this, you can use the built-in Windows tool MBR2GPT.

Disk Initialization:

To initialize a disk as MBR or GPT, it must be completely wiped. This limitation can be inconvenient, especially for system disks.

Why Choose NIUBI Partition Editor?

During testing, the application proved to be stable and user-friendly, including when working with system partitions. Its simplicity is especially important for beginners who may find the standard Windows “Disk Management” insufficient.

If you need a free and functional utility for working with disk partitions, NIUBI Partition Editor is an excellent choice. Despite the limitations of the free version, its capabilities are sufficient for most tasks.
