In this article, we will explain how to fix the issue with running files as an administrator in Windows when a window appears with only a “No” button or the system does not respond to this command. The problem may be due to disabled “User Account Control” (UAC).
Restoring “Run as Administrator” Functionality
The actions described below should be performed from an account with administrative rights on the computer!
To enable UAC, follow these steps:
1. Open the Control Panel. To do this, type “Control Panel” in the Start menu search bar, or press Ctrl + R, type control, and press Enter.
2. Switch the view mode from Category to Large icons or Small icons. This can be done using the switch in the top right corner of the Control Panel window.
3. Go to the User Accounts menu item.
4. Click the button Change User Account Control settings.
5. Move the slider to the level shown in the image below and click the OK button.
6. Restart your computer and check the functionality of the “Run as Administrator” command.
